As a part of Institutional Social Responsibility activity, BharatiyaVidyaBhavan has a rich heritage of undertaking varied outreach programs to help underprivileged members of the society, promoting art & culture and promoting intellectual though process among students, faculty and general public.
BCCM, Bhubaneswar offers free computer education to economically backward community. The institute also actively supports an orphanage at Choudwar, an Old age home at Naraj, an Autistic School at Bhubaneswar and a Daycare Centre, ‘Ashraya’ for the differently abled at Cuttack. The Institute also helps NGOs in Odisha for the differently abled and had taken steps to consolidate them under one confederation “United Voice for the Disabled”.
With aim of providing easy access of education and right environment, a portion of BCCM’s large library has been dedicated and made open to the public of Odisha. Outside students can access large resource of books, journals and magazines which are made available to them free of cost.The Then President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee dedicated the library to the people of Odisha.
BCCM is also actively engaged in promoting Indian art and culture, holding events under SPICMACAY, Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH). Further BharatiyaVidyaBhavan has collaborated with Infosys foundation to conduct cultural outreach program for promoting and creating awareness regarding the nearly extinct dance music other art forms of the state.
